I had moved into a new apartment before I started my second year at Sheridan. In the middle of the afternoon one day, I was returning from an excursion, and I noticed an orange cat wandering our floor. I began knocking on doors to see whose apartment the cat had escaped from.
One door I knocked on belonged to the neighbor on my right. He answered the door and I saw that he was an older man, kind of heavy set, and wearing dirty clothes. I asked him if the cat belonged to him. He replied he had never seen it before but he thought he had some cat food in the house and he would like to feed the cat.
I declined, and told him I was going to continue looking for his owner.
Eventually, the cat was safe at home, and I was back in my apartment. Soon, there was a knock at my door. I opened it a crack and the old man from next door was standing there with a Tupperware container. He said he had found some food for the cat. I explained that I had returned the cat to its owner, and tried to close the door.
The man stuck his foot in the door, and kept trying to give me this food. I eventually got rid of him, and relayed this odd story to my roommates.
Over the coming weeks, this old guy would show up every day with some excuse for knocking on our door. He'd complain the television was too loud when we weren't even watching it, or he would accuse us of taking his newspaper.
We also noticed that whenever we'd leave our apartment, he would stick his head out the door and watch us as we waited for the elevator.
Eventually, we got fed up with his constant pestering and creepiness, and called the building super, who advised him to back off. We didn't hear from him for quite awhile.
One day, I decided to clean out our refrigerator, because our apartment was starting to STINK. I got rid of a lot of moldy food, hoping to kill the stench.
The next day, the smell was still there, and you could even smell it in the hallway. Embarrassed, I decided to thoroughly clean the apartment the next day.
However, the next day brought a big surprise. Our friends arrived at school to tell everyone that their bathroom ceiling had caved in. Apparently, the gentleman who lived above them had suffered a heart attack while drawing a bath. The faucet in the tub kept running for a few days, and eventually the water caused his bathroom floor - and their bathroom ceiling - to cave.
Curious, I asked them which apartment they lived in. "405", they replied - directly beneath our creepy old man neighbor...
To top this off, I recently worked with a girl who is currently enrolled at Sheridan College, and as it turns out - she lives in apartment 505 - the same apartment as the old man.

Editors Note:
Reminds me of a Friends episode only creepier.
