RA on Lock Down

This RA had it coming to him
This isn't so much a bad RA story as much as a REVENGE story...

Freshman year, my best friend and I had a dorm room in Wiley Hall, South East, second floor. Our RA was cool, but the toolbox RA on the third floor was a real pain-in-the-ass. Hank seemed to relish busting undergrads. It's one thing to nail guys who are asking for it, but to go around with your ear against doors, listening for "disturbances" is another matter entirely. Sadly, Hank also suffered from "Small Man Syndrome" and tried to compensate by taking karate and busting balls.

One day during finals week, this Assmaster busted three guys on my floor for talking in the hallway. After a few stiff Captain and Cokes (and a little Conan O'Brien), I decided to exact revenge for all of us.

With the help of my roommate, we slinked up to his room and penny locked him in. (Penny locking is when you take stacks of pennies and use them to prevent the occupant from unlocking their door. It's an art, really. The door has to have a deadbolt, and it has to swing into the room.) We then took a small Allen wrench and put super glue on it, slammed it into his lock, and broke it off clean.

By that time, he heard us in the hall snickering, and tried (unsuccessfully) to open his door. We could barely keep from falling down in laughter at the sound of this Corn Shuck throwing himself at his door. Through the good graces of some higher power, we managed to escape to our floor, where we settled in to watch the fireworks go off.

Our victim had to call another RA to come and get him out of his room, because the guys on his floor pretended not to hear his cries for help. It took 5 minutes to pry all the pennies out from the door jam. After being emancipated from his room, our favorite RA locked his door, and took off on a manhunt.

Several hours later, Grouchy Smurf returned to his room empty-handed, only to find that his key didn't work in the lock! Evidently, it took another 3 hours for a 24-hour locksmith to come out, core the lock, and let Hank back into his room.

The following day, I had guys from all over the dorm patting me on the back.

Editors Note:
Deep down inside, I bet the RA's appreciate the pranks.
