At Ole Miss, we had an "Animal House" fraternity. To give you an idea of the type of guys they were…
My frat happened to be next door to these guys. And we had this stupid custom of throwing a brother in a mud puddle between the houses when he got pinned. They started putting broken glass in it.
Anyway, they invited a local group of orphans to a Christmas party one year. They really dressed it up with a tree that had used condoms and dead birds as ornaments. The evening ended with Santa Claus coming down the stairs, ostensibly with a bag of presents for the orphans. Another frat member stood at the foot of the stairs with a gun, and shot Santa (also a member) with blanks, and he tumbled down the stairs, giving the kids a complex for life.
Naturally, the University was horrified, and letters of apology were sent. The fraternity profusely apologized, and invited the kids back for an Easter Egg hunt. They let them loose in the back yard, but neglected to hide any eggs.
And I'll be damned if they didn't shoot the Easter Bunny, too.

Editors Note:
This frat prank is much more tame--funny, but tame.
