Shopping Cart for Patriots Football

Pats fans got to eat, ya know
As an RA in Westfield's Davis Hall, I had seen quite a few strange things in my several months on the job. Few things, however, will stick in my mind more than the creative homecoming of some of my residents from their trip to the grocery store.

I was watching TV in my room, fighting a fever (which I later discovered was due to Lyme's Disease) with a cold glass of iced tea. I heard a bunch of my guys, including Philly, Busta, Troy and Mishki, yell "Hey" to me. I glanced up and greeted them back, and committed a classic double take, demanding that they come back.

After all, they were pushing a grocery cart.

It would seem that these boys, in preparations for a long night of Patriots Football, had gone to Stop & Shop to pick up some snacks. They'd taken the bus to the store, and had discovered that, when they went to go home, that the bus had stopped running until much later that night - they were stranded for a while. Not wanting to wait, they decided to walk home.

However, they had an obcene amount of food, and couldn't carry it all themselves. So, they used their amazing A-1 Tower inginutiy and stole a shopping cart to walk home.

It was quite a sight: 5 guys, all pushing a shopping cart heaped with food down the street. Even one of the local cops seemed rather amused by the scene.

Anymatter, I had a good chuckle over the story, and as a good RA, I checked the cart for booze -- none that I could see. That was really impressive. They'd brought in a loaded shopping cart, and I couldn't find any booze in it. Just goes to show that when you've gotta have snacks, nothing else will do.

And what's more, they didn't get into any trouble about taking the cart, all they needed to do was bring it back in the morning. They did, by loading it into the back seat of one of their cars, but not before it was left for the night, like a trophy, in the front lobby for all to see, and admire!

I trust your boys didn't riot after New England's Super Bowl victory...
