Mallrats Equals Making Out?
In your list of the 20 Best Date Flicks, you overlooked an awesome date movie: Kevin Smith's Mallrats. It's perfect. Sex humor and a guy that would do anything to get his lady back. If this movie doesn't put you in the mood by the end, at least you've laughed your ass off. -- Matt R.
More Moulin Rouge
I just wanted to say thanks for your review of Moulin Rouge. I love the movie, and I just bought it on DVD this afternoon. I'm glad someone else out there appreciates its artistic value, and I'm also glad someone else enjoyed Ewan McGregor's performance more than Nicole Kidman's. I was upset that she won a Golden Globe and McGregor didn't. Thanks again for your great review. -- Katie B.
Worst Of The Worst
Hello, I'm a big fan of Collegestories.com. That's enough suck-up shit; here's what I thought were the worst of the Worst Films Of 2001. 1) Heartbreakers: I'm used to Jennifer Love Hewitt being in mediocre comedies, but I expect more from Sigourney Weaver and Jason Lee. The latter is an actor who cracks me up in all of his other movies. I wonder if Gene Hackman's strategy this year is to appear in as many movies as possible, in case one becomes a hit. He missed this time. 2) Vanilla Sky: Go back to comedy, Cameron Crowe! VS was too confusing to enjoy. This one marks the decline of Tom Cruise's career. 3) Original Sin: With her body and lack of acting talent, Angelina Jolie should go ahead and be a porn star. OS could be her audition tape. When I saw this in the theatre, there was one other person in the audience. I even fell asleep during the show. 4) Planet of the Apes: Baaaaaaaaaaaaad remake! I felt that most of the "story" was just to fill up time. I didn't understand the ending either. Thanks for your efforts in making a website worth repeated viewings P.S. I enjoyed watching Hannibal and Pearl Harbor, even though your points were valid. -- Doug Kelker Editor in Chief Ryan McNally replies: Who says a little suck-up shit is a bad thing? Congrats to Doug for becoming the latest addition to Film Frat's staff of writers. Check out his new reviews of St. Elmo's Fire and Hamlet (2000).
More Quotes You Can't Refuse...
Greetings paisan, Sorry, but in your Top 20 Godfather Quotes article you missed two critical, memorable, and important quotes: 1) Michael Corleone: "(with a firm kiss) I know it was you Fredo. You broke my heart, you broke my heart!" -- from The Godfather Part II 2) Michael Corleone: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!!" -- from The Godfather Part III -- Johnathan B.
Chew On This
Hi, I like your list of the Top 10 Chewing Out Scenes. The one you need to add, and I'm sure others may have mentioned it, is the scene in which all the new rookie stockbrokers meet in the movie Boiler Room. Ben Affleck gives the chew-out speech. -- Kurt Send any comments/ feedback to the author. | |
