How One Day Can Predict the Whole Year |
|
by Ben Applebaum Have you ever noticed that you can tell what your whole semester will be like from the first day of class? Every course will fall into one of these three categories: Type 1: Prof hands out syllabus and lets you go early. This means: you'll have to work a little this semester but don't stop going out the night/morning before class. Type 2: Prof hands out the syllabus and goes right into the first lecture. This means: you'll probably see most of your classmates in the drop/add line. Beware: Cliff Notes might be ineffective in this case. Type 3: Prof asks everyone to say their name and what they did over the summer -- doesn't even get to the syllabus. This means: don't bother buying your books. The tests will most likely be take-home and the same as last semester. |
