Spring Break on the Drunk Bus |
|
I was just reading the new story up about Spring Break and the whole bus thing reminded me of this past Spring Break down on South Padre.
My friends and I (including my older brother, who I had ridden down to Padre with) had gone to Club Rio--I think that's what it's called, the REALLY big club at the end of the Strip on South Padre. I wasn't 21 and so I wasn't drinking, (I had gotten drunk on the beach earlier that day, though). While at the club, I came across my brother and some guy talking. His name was George and he had gone to high school with my brother, and while my brother knew him, I didn't. Actually, George wouldn't believe that we were brothers until I showed him my ID. By the way, both my brother and George were drinking quite heavile. We were sitting down and George was talking about some girl, with whom we had all gone to high school, and from whom he had gotten head the night before when some security guards walked up to us. They asked George if he had been drinking. He replied honestly, "yes." They then turned to me and my brother and asked if he was with us, we said that we had just run into him. They said that he had to leave. They said my brother and I could stay, but we didn't want to leave this guy to fend for himself because he didn't know where his ride was, and he was REALLY drunk. So, my brother and I decided that I would take the "drunk bus" back to his hotel room with him, while he went back in and got our friends. On the bus, I seriously thought George was going to throw-up, but fortunately he didn't. He did keep on asking me my name, though, and he couldn't--for the life of him--remember whose brother I was. There were some other drunk people on the bus and I started talking to some of them; one of them told me the hotel they were staying out and I told them how me and my friends had partied there the night before. Then he invited me to come back to their hotel later that night since he and his friends had a keg. You see, me, my brother and our friends were camping out on South Padre. Basically we stayed down there and managed to only spend money on beer and food-at night, we would go to different hotels to party. We got to George's hotel, and went to his room. I saw some people there that I hadn't seen since before I graduated high school. And I was offered a beer, which I gladly accepted. My brother showed up not long after that and he and our friends hung out in their room for a while (while I continued to drink). Then we left to go back to the hotel where we'd partied the night before. We saw Todd (the guy from the bus) out by the pool. True to his word, he had a keg. The last thing I remember that night was saying hi, being offered a beer, and then Tim offered some to my friends, who all gladly accepted as well. Next thing I knew, I woke up in my tent. Needless to say, that was simply ONE night down there. I've omitted the next night when we went down to Mexico. Perhaps another time... --University of Saint Thomas [Editor's Note: Spring break fun at South Padre.]
