Food Budgeting Tips

When I was a college student, we were more likely to spend money on alcohol and gasoline than on food. Here are some great tips on how to stretch your food budget when you are a college student:
  • 1. One Ramen noodle package can make three meals. Break the noodles in half and split the seasoning packet in half, too. Make half of this according to package directions. The other half of the seasoning packet can be made into a lovely broth. The other half of the Ramen noodles can be eaten raw. Best to do this last one when you are drunk.
  • 2. If you are going to have a one night stand, you might as well make it worth it--raid the fridge before you slink home. Might as well grab a roll of toilet paper, too.
  • 3. I knew a guy who would drink hot dog juice after boiling his hot dogs. Can't say I tried it myself, but when you're desperate...
  • 4. Microwave popcorn and boxed macaroni and cheese. The diet of champions.
Added benefit of this type of diet--massive weight loss which tends to creep back up on you once you're in the real world and can afford decent food. Until then, be thin and don't tell your mommy what you've been having for lunch...
